Santa Foundation Brings Hope and Healing to Children admitted St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor cancer and nutrition units.
On 14th November 2025, the Santa Foundation made a deeply meaningful visit to St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor, an outreach that brought together compassion, community, and the shared desire to uplift vulnerable children and families. The visit, which focused on the Cancer and Nutrition Units, with a theme “Nourishing hope and restoring smiles,” reached 60 patients and their caretakers, bringing smiles, comfort, and renewed hope.
The patients received a wide range of essential items, including foodstuffs, sanitary supplies, clothes, beddings, shoes, bags, toys, and more. These gifts were not just items of relief. They were expressions of love and reminders that no one walks this journey alone.
Upon arrival, the Santa Foundation team was warmly welcomed by partners from Solitaire and dedicated staff from the Nutrition Unit, whose hospitality made the day even more special.
This initiative was made possible through the overwhelming generosity of numerous well-wishers, individuals, families, and organisations whose contributions exceeded all expectations. Among the supporters were members of the Osprey Nest School family, Waribe Limited, Jovnat Bakery, Stress Clinic Uganda, YODRA, TPSDI, VASCODU, Las’ Café, Kuc Laundry and Dry Cleaners, Elena and Kimberly Apartments, Lilly Apartments, Top Notch Laundry and Cleaning Services, Hapaa Cancer Wayfinders Org, EMIS Mind Company Ltd, Family connect Ministries, students from the Gulu University Faculty of Agriculture, among many others.
Their kindness, whether in cash or in kind, made this mission not only possible but impactful. To each one who gave, we say thank you. Your generosity touched hearts deeply and glorified God through acts of love.
One of the most memorable moments of the day came when children from the cancer unit danced joyfully for the team. Their courage, energy, and beautiful smiles melted every heart present. They also gifted the Santa Foundation with a thank-you artwork, an emotional reminder of why this mission matters.
To mark this special day, a commemorative tree was planted at the hospital’s administration block, symbolizing life, hope, and continued partnership.
The Santa Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to the hospital administration for granting us the opportunity to touch lives through giving. This visit reaffirmed our belief that when communities unite in compassion, healing happens, not only in hospitals but in hearts.
Together, we are spreading love. Together, we are planting hope.
